Embody the POGYI Method

The Pointe of Grace Yoga Institute Methodis a signature approach to Trauma-Informed Yoga crafted by Lenora Rousseau. It comes from her unique blend of experience including over 10,000 hours of teaching Yoga and movement, informed by her education in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-recovery, and work in clinical crisis care.

This method has been carefully and intentionally curated with research-backed practices so every practice maximizes the healing benefits of traditional Yoga, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and more!

Through this Yoga Teacher Training, you will learn how to teach traditional Yoga using our POGYI method. Our training will:​​

The On-Demand Experience Enhanced

Not all asynchronous Yoga Teacher Trainings are built the same. We have designed this course so you receive the same high-quality instruction and opportunities to become a confident teacher as live-instruction students. 

​

  • 8 weeks of on-demand instruction modules that open week-by-week to give you time to absorb and implement the material.

    • Sound too fast? Don't worry! You will have 12 months from date of enrollment to complete all the requirements for certification, so it is truly at your own pace!

  • Optional Live Coaching sessions with the lead instructor so you can ask any questions about the material and get to practice with your peers. ​

  • Optional Live teaching practicums held twice a year so you can refine your teaching skills with your peers.

  • FREE online yoga classes through our Online Studio to complete the necessary practice hours for certification.

  • Lifetime access to all lectures, classes, and course content through our YTT Alumni Page where you can always come back to content and maintain access to our network of graduates.

  • Class Design and Sequencing Tools, Cueing Prompts, and Guided Meditation Scripts to help find your voice as a new teacher.

  • Business tools including liability language, prompts to help you find your niche, marketing ideas, and more to empower you to succeed as a professional Yoga Instructor.

Curriculum Overview

Our internationally accredited Trauma-Informed 200 HR RYT Certification Course meets (and exceeds) the Yoga Alliance (YA) elevated standards of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and is designed to equip you to be a skilled and compassionate Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher trained in the Hatha Yoga tradition with introductions to Yin, Vinyasa, and Chair Yoga traditions so that you can effectively teach in today's modern Yoga environment.

Course Structure

On-Demand Modules
Eight modules that open up weekly
(You can complete the modules and your certification in as little as 8 weeks or you can take up to 12 months)

-AND OPTIONAL-

Teaching Practicum
These sessions are an option for you to complete your intern classes with peers and receive feedback!

We offer them twice a year (fall and spring semesters). The next ones are:

Group Coaching Sessions
These sessions are an option for you to ask your questions live and practice with peers.

We offer them 5 times a year: one summer session, two fall sessions, and two spring sessions.

The Journey to Certification
and Beyond

Graduates Can Professionally:

  • Register as an RYT 200 with the Yoga Alliance;

  • Teach Group & Private Yoga Classes;

  • Offer Yoga Workshops;

  • Host Yoga Retreats;

  • Work at a Gym, Yoga Studio, or Wellness Center;**

  • Start a Yoga Studio, Business, or Charity.

​** Please note that employment opportunties vary by location, organization, and employer. Please inquire directly with any potential employers or organizations you wish to work with to ensure you understand their requirements before registering.

Certification Components Include:

  • Attend Live In-Person and/or Online YTT Sessions (See Attendance Policy)

  • Complete Reading and Homework as Assigned

  • Complete 75 Practice Hours (either solo or through Yoga Classes)

  • Attend Practicum Teaching OR Teach 5 Internship Classes

  • Pass an Open-Book, Multiple Choice Final Exam

  • Pass a Teaching Demonstration.

In order to use this scholarship for our RYT program, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Military spouses of active-duty service members and spouses of National Guard and reserve members on Title 10 orders in grades E-1 through E-9, W-1 through W-3 and O-1 through O-3 can register for MyCAA financial assistance.

  • OR Spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserves in these same pay grades are eligible.

  • Must have a high school diploma or obtained a GED

 
*Please note: If you do not successfully meet eligibility and complete the MyCAA process, access to the course will be revoked and you will have to re-register to complete payment.
